Writing and Reading Staff - Southeast

I am a native Texan  born in the DFW area. I am a tea-drinking and cheeseburger-eating kind of guy. In my spare time, I like to work on cars, which helps me gather my thoughts and take a break from my busy days. My background is technology. I enjoy computers, graphics, 3-D animation, designing and special effects video.

I didn’t grow up in Texas but have lived here over half my life. My husband and I love to travel. We have been as far south as Brazil and New Zealand, as far east as Korea, as far west as Belarus, and as far north as St. Peterburg Russia – where we lived for 3 years. Besides traveling, we enjoy animals and reading, as well as gathering to fellowship with friends and family.

Writing stories is my first love, but I have an endless barrage of other creative pursuits such as sketching, playing instruments, and sewing cosplay. When I'm not on campus or working on a creative project, I'm probably snuggling one of my cats, going on a weekend drive with my family, or exploring in a video game. Hope to meet you soon!

I was born in Vietnam before moving to the U.S. with my family. I am passionate about education, and I am happy to use my knowledge and experience to help students who struggle with language barriers at schools. In addition to traveling, I enjoy doing yoga, reading detective novels, and cooking healthy meals for my family.

I am originally from Ukraine. I moved to Texas in 2009 from Frankfurt, Germany, where I was living for several years. I love to have a cup of coffee or tea and read a book on a rainy or snowy day. Also, I like to do puzzles and hike in the mountains. In my free time, I like to travel with my husband and my two boys. We explore new places, new foods, and new museums.

I am a native Texan and have lived in Dallas all my life.  I love to read books, watch movies, and travel.  I am an avid fan of both Marvel and Harry Potter films, and I look forward to seeing how the stories unfold in the upcoming years. 

I have been a tutor at the SE-RWRC since November 2018. My vocational background includes a lot of education and social service work. In my spare time, I like to remove weeds, keep a yard managed, feed and watch birds, observe the weathering of outside objects, follow the BBC, collect stamps, make homemade bread, drink coffee, study anthropology, biology, geography, geology, and history, walk on paths while studying nature, and listen to music from different parts of the world.

I am the Learning Lab Manager for the Southeast Campus, and I've been in education for over 20 years. My love of learning is surpassed only by my love for my family.  My philosophy and driving force is, "Do what you love, and love what you do!"  I have a wonderful husband, two grown sons, and a schnauzer-terrier mix dog named Chip.  I love to learn new things, read, work puzzles, bake, and take long walks with my husband and dog.  

I moved to Texas in 2007 and have worked in the SE Reading Writing Resource Center as a tutor since 2010. I was born and raised in Wisconsin, went to college in Minnesota, and lived in Japan, Hawaii, and Florida. In addition, I have traveled to Western Europe, Malaysia, and Uganda. My second language is Japanese, but I am also interested in other East Asian languages and European languages. I enjoy traveling with my wife and four children. I enjoy seeing trees and forests, birds, insects, starry nights, snow storms, and thunderstorms.

I was born in California but raised in Texas since 1992. I've been working at the RWRC as an instructional aide since February 2019. In my spare time, I enjoy building computers and learning about computer-related things. I enjoy drinking milk tea and smoothies.

I’ve been working as a tutor for Tarrant County College since 2017. I love our students and enjoy being a part of their academic journey to learn the English language and prepare for their success in the future. When I’m not working, I spend time with my dogs Bella and Yoda, who are very friendly to strangers. I also enjoy outdoor activities and traveling with my family.
