Learning Commons Managing Associate - Supplemental Instruction

Proud Texas A&M Aggie & First Gen College Grad. Current Grad Student at Clemson! Late Summer 2022 I joined TCC and worked on building Connect’s first Supplemental Instruction program. It was soft-launched in October 2022, supported 3 different courses, and since then has continued to grow to support more courses! The SI Program means so much to me because I was once a student served by it and grew to love it even more when I got to work for it. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, volunteering at church, hiking, and traveling.

Supplemental Instruction Leader

Howdy, I’m John Wilkins. This is my first semester as an SI Leader. As a “life-long learner”, I am studying for my FAA Part 107 “drone license”. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a BSEE and an MBA. My career has spanned several fields, including: farming, military, engineering, manufacturing, training, project management and facilities management. I really like seeing folks learn and apply their new skill-sets to move toward their life goals. I enjoy reading, technology, spending time with the family (which includes our Shih Tzu mix rescue dog, Sherman), researching about the management of “AI” and gardening. The SI program wasn’t available in my school years, but I did have a couple of professors who used the basic processes that SI now employs. I am enthusiastic about bringing value as an SI Leader at TCC!
