Sheep Brain Anatomy Video
Description:
In this video, Dr. Candice Torres will show you the structures of the sheep brain you should know that are listed in the BIOL 2401 (Anatomy and Physiology I) laboratory manual for the Trinity River Campus as of Spring 2023. Please reference the structures listed on pages 11.5-11.6 of the lab manual for lab exercise 11 on the brain. The video is annotated with information about each view of the brain. Turn on captions to view the names of the structures (there may be some inaccuracies, but most of the captions were edited to reflect what is said in the video).
Disclaimer: Watching this video does not substitute attending the lab in person to view these structures on a real specimen. Your instructor also advises you to review the images of the sheep brain posted to the Science Learning Center (SLC) Canvas site. You may also view mounted and encased preserved sheep brains in the SLC in person.
Note: Some cranial nerves are not covered in the video because they are not clear on most sheep brain specimens.
