Math Staff - NE
Kyron Bray Tutor |
My name is Kyron (like Byron but with a K). I started tutoring at the MPLC in 2023. I graduated from the University of Houston with a B.S. in Math and a minor in Comp Sci in 2018. Although math is known for its rigid logic, I like to explore the many paths to a solution; this is the approach I take with tutoring. The rigid becomes flexible…hopefully 😊 |

Jean Gatch Tutor |
I earned a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with a math minor at Utah State University in 1992. I then earned a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Combining my passion for math/science and teaching, I worked as a math/science teacher in middle and high schools for over 17 years, as well as a private tutor for all ages. I believe that everyone CAN learn, and connect to math and science and have seen this happen in students many times. When not studying math or science, I am playing my fiddle (usually traditional Irish music) or other instruments. Come to the Math/Physics Learning Lab. You will be glad you visited!

Roger Koehler Tutor |
My retirement, which began in 2004 ended in 2016 by joining the Math Testing Center team. My career began by enlisting in the US Air Force which first trained me as a geodetic surveyor and next gave me a 2-year assignment surveying the early warning sites which blanketed the state of Alaska. Extensive travel was the nature of the career field that the AF chose for me (45 states and 18 countries in 27 years), however, during that time, God also blessed me with marriage to my childhood sweetheart and two fine children. Continuing education was done exclusively via night school and just months before my AF retirement in 1988, the State University of New York conferred on me the degree of Bachelor of Science Computer and Information Science Summa Cum Laude. Thus began the next leg of my career, working as a software engineer with several defense contractors culminating in joining the team building the flight control software for a fighter/trainer. |

My name is Omar Sanchez, and I am an Instructional Associate at TCC NE campus. I have been working at the MPLC for four years tutoring students with math and physics classes. I graduated from UTA with an Aerospace Master’s in Engineering and a B.S. in the same major. If I had access to the same level of tutoring services offered at the MPTL during my undergraduate classes, I would have struggled less and had a better understanding of the subject. This is why I strongly believe in the work that everyone at the MPTL puts into tutoring students. |
