Membership Benefits and Fees
According to the ASL Club Constitution, membership fees are $10 annually. You are allowed to break down the payment and pay $5 per semester as well. If you choose to participate in the club, the membership benefits are as follows:
1) Voting Rights - Only members are allowed to vote, and non-members are not allowed to vote.
2) Free events—ASL Club events are free for members, while non-members pay an admission fee at the door. FYI, this does not apply to Deaf events that are not organized by the ASL Club. Therefore, if there is a Deaf Event in the Deaf Community that charges an admission fee, members and non-members have to follow through.
3) Chance to win a prize - Once you're a member, you can enter your name into a raffle to obtain a prize at the end of the semester. Also, the more you attend events, the more chances you have to win. However, you must sign your name on every attendance sheet for each event you attend to increase your chances.
4) You'll be able to develop lifelong friends and networking opportunities.
5) You can access various ASL, Deaf, and Interpreting resources inside our ASL Club Canvas.
6) Plus, joining an organization will look great on your resume for future job opportunities!
