On April 17, 2024, the Criminal Justice Department at Tarrant County College, Trinity River, in collaboration with the Law-and-Order Student Organization, embarked on an unforgettable journey to the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport Police Department.

As guardians of the world's third busiest airport, the DFW International Airport PD welcomed our group of 20 students with open arms and provided an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of their cutting-edge facilities.
Our students had the incredible opportunity to explore the inner workings of the airport's security apparatus. From state-of-the-art SWAT vehicles to specialized equipment, officers generously shared insights into their deployment procedures and allowed our students to step into their shoes by trying on their gear.

But the excitement didn't stop there! Our students were treated to a thrilling drone demonstration showcasing the advanced technology used to monitor and safeguard airport operations. Additionally, the Motorcycle units wowed us with their impressive skills, demonstrating precision and agility in their maneuvers.

Throughout the tour, our students gained invaluable insights into the multifaceted operations of the Airport PD. They toured the on-site Jail, Control Center, Fitness Center, and Criminal Investigation Division (CID), witnessing firsthand the dedication and professionalism of the department's personnel.

To cap off this unforgettable experience, our students had the privilege of hearing from a seasoned detective who shared her career journey at the DFW International Airport PD. A K-9 Officer also stole the show, providing a fascinating glimpse into the world of explosive detection with his trusty K-9 companion.

We were honored to have Chief Brian Redburn meet and address our students, imparting invaluable wisdom and insights into law enforcement and security operations. We were appreciative and thankful to Sergeant David Hornsby and Sergeant Sagiri and their exceptional staff for orchestrating such an incredible experience for our students.
