Overview: Guidelines for Submission

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

Students must be enrolled at TCC South Campus at some point during the academic year in which they submit to Script. Students enrolled in an online class taught by a South Campus instructor are also eligible to submit.

Entries that do not follow these guidelines may be disqualified:

  • All submissions must be the student's original, unpublished work.
  • Each piece submitted must have a title, no “untitled” submissions.
  • The use of AI is not permitted on written pieces.
  • The pieces must be anonymous when the editors evaluate them: your name and/or identifying information must not appear anywhere in the content of the file(s) you submit.
  • Students may submit entries in as many categories as desired.
  • Students may submit up to 6 pieces in the visual art category. Students may submit up to 3 pieces in any of the other categories.
  • When you submit your work for consideration, you grant Script one-time publication rights for both paper and online formats. You also grant the Script staff the right to make minor editorial changes as necessary.
  • Accepted work may also be used for promotional purposes.
  • Editorial decisions regarding inclusion in the publication are final.
  • Notifications are sent near the end of the spring semester to the students whose pieces have been selected for publication.
  • Although March 15th is the deadline for the current issue, we accept submissions year-round. Submitting after the deadline means your work will be considered for the following year's issue.
