2/3/25 Meeting Minutes
2/3/25 Meeting Minutes
Agenda:
- Explain and play game
- Get confirmations about debate tournament (last 15 minutes).
Game:
“We broke up into three teams of three. Each team was assigned a person to represent, and they had to argue why their person should receive the only parachute on a plane that is going down. We started out giving each team a gender and age, and the first round was only about those facts, such as a woman aged 26: her life is just really getting started, there’s so much potential, etc. For the second round, we’d add another fact, such as she’s training to be an astronaut. For the final round, we’d add another fact, such as she’s pretty sure she’s pregnant.” https://www.reddit.com/r/Debate/comments/17na2fq/comment/k7vckh3/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button Links to an external site.
- The teams gets 2 minutes to originally discuss
- A representative (different each time) from each team will stand up and tell everyone why their person should live in less then 2 minute.
- A new fact about each person is drawn and the teams have 2 minute to discuss. The process repeats until each person has 3 debated qualities.
- Teachers have to choose a winning team in 2 minutes
Overall: Kathryn and Patrick won with a 21 year-old, female, criminal, who enjoys andrew tate! Everyone loved the game.
